Sossusvlei is a National park that is famous for it’s sand dunes.

It also has the most photographed dead trees in the world.

We watched the sunrise on dune #42 and then climbed Big Daddy (the biggest dune in the park that you can walk on). We didn’t get to the dune until 11:00 am. Even though the sand burnt our feet, running down was the best part of the day. It seemed as if we would never get to the bottom.

The sign was full of stickers, so we put one up from our local ski shop. We crossed the Tropic of Capricorn in Namibia.

We went on the 5 hour rock statue hike at Koedkoppe.

The rare Welwitschia. This plant can get up to 2000 years old.

The dead sea… It had so much salt that we floated like a piece of styrofoam. 

There are 210,000 seals harbored at Cape Cross near Swakopmund and Henties Bay. The smell of this colony was overwhelming and a lot of people held their nose.
