We had a crazy couple of days in Bangkok.   Miles with food poisoning and Kari at the cosmetic surgery hospital.  Check out the How We travel section for more details.

Lily gets chowed by mosquitos!!!!

We went to visit Myanmar for a day.  Once we figured out the 30 minute time change we were good to go.  Lucky we had a guide who showed us this ACTUAL piece of Buddha.  It was very impressive, surrounded by LED lights and so tiny.  We also got to check out this amazing pagoda on the back of a crocodile.

We spent 2 days on the Pai River. Fun was had on Class 3 and 4 rapids. The guides were funny and we got to spend one night a Jungle Camp. There the wise “The Boy” challenged us with puzzles. We could only solve two of them. No one from the Maurer’s got knocked off although the boat did almost flip once. The hot springs and rock slide along the way were added surprises.

We spent Lily’s 12th Birthday at the Chai Lai Orchid Inn  just out of Chiang Mai.  We were lucky to give an 1 year old elephant a bath while she gave us a shower.  Spending the night in an amazing bungalow while hearing elephants trumpet was a very Happy Birthday
